Conference on Oneness- Rare books & Rare exponents of Advaita: Rishi Anirvan: A Lesser Known Radiant Mind by Buddhodev Ghosh. The paper was presented in the Conference on Oneness, jointly organized by Indic Academy and Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) that was held in Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula, Adi Shankara Nilayam, Veliyanad, Kochi between 15th and 17th October, 2019.

Buddhodev Ghosh takes up the responsibility of introducing ‘Anirvan’ or Svāmī Nirvāṇānanda Sarasvatī, who was a monk-scholar in the twentieth century. He explains the journey of Narendra Dhar, a son of a medical practitioner, to Swami Nirvanananda, a disciple of a great sage Swami Nigamananda Sarasvati, elaborating on his roles as in charge of Kokilamukh Rishi Vidyalaya, editor of the Aryadarpan, and author of ‘Ved-Mimamsa’,Upanishad-prasanga, and others.

He also discusses his advaitic views with the help of his books like Pravacahan, Prashnottari, Vedantajijnasa, Buddhiyoga, Gitanuvachan, Gayatrimandala, and others. He considers the life of this great sage as an extraordinary example where the man is completing the goal to achieve the highest status of his life. Rishi Anirban’s works are extraordinary because of his unique thought and the realization from the heart is mixed up here. Advaita Vedanta is the core of his philosophy and all the statement we have to know about this for get a new direction in this philosophical tradition, concludes Ghosh.
