ಉತ್ತರ ಮತ್ತು ಮಧ್ಯ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರ ಹಾಗು ದಕ್ಷಿಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವ ರೂಡಿಯಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲ. ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಖ್ಖನ್ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೊಂದು ವಾಸ್ತುಶೈಲಿಯ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಗರ ಮತ್ತು ದ್ರಾವಿಡ ವಾಸ್ತುಶೈಲಿಗಳ ಸಂಯೋಜನೆ ನಡೆದು ಹೊಸದೊಂದು ಮಿಳಿತ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಮೂಡಿ ಬಂತು. ಎರಡರ ಮಿಶ್ರಣವಾದ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಈ ನೂತನ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಶೈಲಿಗೆ ವೇಸರ ಅಥವಾ ವ್ಯಮಿಶ್ರ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಯಿತು.
