Creative Writing With Meditation

Meditation helps us reach a place deep within ourselves, and that’s where our writing comes from. Writing our thoughts essentially means paying attention and being aware of them – precisely what the mindfulness meditation aims to achieve. We can even claim that creative writing is a method of self-discovery just as the Buddhist meditation is a journey to discover one’s own innate Buddha-nature, or potential.

This November, Himalayan Writing Retreat offers a unique workshop to help writers bring their creativity to the fore through meditation. Tsering Namgyal – author of three books and a practicing Tibetan Buddhist – leads the workshop. He has studied at the University of Iowa, widely regarded the world’s best school of writing. He is assisted by Dr. Vandita Dubey.

The workshop is from November 20th – 24th at the Himalayan Writing Retreat. The workshop price of INR 28000 includes your stay (twin shared), all meals, sessions and taxes. It may benefit you to stay on after the workshop and work on your writing without distraction.

Indic Academy will be providing a sponsorship of the registration fees to one deserving person for attending the workshop. Please apply for the workshop at this link. For more information regarding the workshop, please check out this page.
