Globalisation Of Thought: A Quest For Shankara

An excerpt from Hari Kiran Vadlamani’s valedictory address at the recently concluded Conference on Oneness organised jointly with Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth at Veliyanad, Kerala. After speaking about Indic Academy and summarising its activities over the last four years for the benefit of Swami Atmapriyananda, (Vice-Chancellor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational Research Institute, Deemed University,) Hari spoke about the globalisation of vedantic thought and its progress over the centuries, the obstacles it is currently encountering and the need for another Adi Shankara. He spoke about the urgent global need for Gurus trained in traditional Advaita Vedanta teaching and the plans of Indic Academy to establish four Gurukuls around the world to train such Gurus.
